Shanghai, China-Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") today announced the launch of two DC brushed motor driver ICs for automotive applications such as electronic throttle valves-"TB9054FTG"with "TB9053FTG"TB9054FTG" adopts solderable flank VQFN package, and "TB9053FTG" adopts power QFN package. TB9054FTG is now available for samples and is expected to start mass production in March 2022; TB9053FTG will provide samples from February 2021 and is expected Mass production will start in May 2022.
The amount of H-bridge motor drives for electronic throttles and various automotive valves is increasing, which stimulates the demand for system miniaturization and cost reduction. In addition, the second-generation on-board self-diagnostic device requirements (OBDII) will be implemented in 2022, requiring automotive motor drive ICs to have SPI communication capabilities.
The new IC launched today uses 5A[1]The 2-channel output drive helps reduce the mounting area. In addition, 10A can also be provided in parallel mode[1]Single channel drive. The two drives can be connected in a daisy chain, and also have the function of controlling the motor only through SPI communication. Both of these methods help reduce MCU ports. The new motor drive adopts a small QFN package with a size of 6.0mm×6.0mm, which is designed to meet the market's demand for system miniaturization.
Throttle valves, various engine valves, foldable mirrors and body systems, including automotive applications such as electric door bolts
Note:
