  • Author:MURATA
  • Release on:2021-01-04

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Tsuneo Murata) began mass production of high-frequency chips for power supplies in response to the increased demand for filters due to automotive electrical equipment. Ferrite beads "BLM18DN series" (hereinafter referred to as this product).

1. R & D background

In recent years, the auto industry has*1Such as the high-functionalization of automobiles, the high-quality image quality of automotive cameras as sensors has been further developed, and various ECUs*2The connected vehicle network is more accurate than before. On the other hand, the wiring weight of network cables and power cables has also become a research topic. In order to reduce the weight, the PoC method (Power Over Coaxial) in which power is combined on the data transmission interface and transmitted by a coaxial cable is realized. . The PoC power supply combination line (bias T circuit) requires high-impedance, high-frequency, and high-current components. Our company has developed the BLM18DN series to meet this purpose.

This product uses our company's magnetic material technology and internal electrode formation technology to achieve the characteristics and reliability necessary for a small noise filter suitable for automotive circuits.

2. Features of this research and development product

The detailed features are as follows.
  • Achieved high impedance characteristics in the 1GHz high frequency band
  • Suitable for maximum rated current 1400mA
  • Murata's magnetic material technology has achieved high frequency, high impedance and suitable for large current in a size of 1.6×0.8×0.95mm (length×width×height)
  • 4 varieties according to customer needs
