1. R & D background

In recent years, the automotive industry has been driven by autonomous driving and ADAS*2As the automobile becomes more functional, the image quality of the on-board camera is further developed as a sensor.*3The in-vehicle network connected between them is developing at a higher speed than ever. It is expected that it will be popularized in the future than 100BASE-T1, which has been widely used.*4The higher-speed communication standard 1000BASE-T1.

This product has achieved miniaturization using our company's winding technology, and achieved the characteristics and reliability required by noise filters used in communication circuits of the 1000BASE-T1 standard.

2. Features of this research and development product

This product complies with the OPEN Alliance*5 "Specified S-parameter characteristics*6. The detailed features are as follows.
  • Advanced common mode choke coil supporting 1000BASE-T1 (maximum 1Gbps)
  • Fully comply with the S-parameter characteristics specified by "OPEN Alliance"
  • Achieved working temperature -40℃~125℃
  • Realize an ultra-small size of 3.2mm×2.5mm with a unique winding structure

3. Future development

In this research and development product, in-vehicle equipment that supports 1000BASE-T1 will be introduced in 2019 and will start sample shipment. And plans to start mass production in 2018.

In the future, as automobiles become more functional and electronic and electrical equipment, the demand for higher-speed in-vehicle networks will increase. We aim at the popularization of high-speed networks (multi-gigabit) that will exceed 1000BASE-T1 in the future, and we will also develop various products that meet customer needs in the future.
