Heute, zum großen Teil aufgrund der fortwährenden Bemühungen von Nordic, die Reichweite von ULP-Wireless kontinuierlich zu erweitern, wurde nun eine Version der ULP-Wireless-Konnektivität namens Bluetooth Low Energy von der Open-Standards-Gruppe hinter der Bluetooth-Funktechnologie übernommen: der Bluetooth SIG . Daher wird Bluetooth Low Energy in fast jedem neuen Mobiltelefon und Bluetooth-fähigen Gerät in Kürze neben dem klassischen Bluetooth erscheinen.
