Maxim launches the car DC-DC converter Max16984, which integrates a USB charging enumerator. Using a single chip IC to identify arbitrary portable devices (PD) through USB interface, and directly use the car battery to charge the equipment.

High performance: MAX16984's working voltage can reach 28V, which can withstand the negative load transient voltage of up to 42V; integrated output adjustment circuit to eliminate cable voltage drop

Lower power consumption: Max16984's car USB function can communicate with the connected portable equipment when not in use, switch to the low power consumption mode, thereby reducing power loss

Safety charging: MAX16984 is the only USB protection IC that integrates ESD diodes. ESD diode can prevent the radio or peripheral component of damaging cars
