Shanghai, China-Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") today announced the launch of a "TCR3RM series"To provide a more stable DC power supply for mobile electronic devices such as smart phones and wearable devices. The first batch of products in this series will begin shipping today, and other products will also be launched.
The new TCR3RM series combines bandgap circuits, low-pass filters (allowing only very low frequencies), and low-noise high-speed operational amplifiers to achieve industry-leading[1]High ripple rejection ratio[2]And low output noise voltage.
The 32 products in this series provide a maximum output current of 300mA and an output voltage between 0.9V and 4.5V. Customers can choose the output voltage according to the actual application.
This series of products adopts a compact DFN4C package with a size of only 1mm×1mm, which is suitable for mobile devices that require high-density mounting, similar to the power supply for cameras, audio, and RF circuits in smart phones and wearable devices.
In an ordinary LDO regulator, when the input voltage noise frequency exceeds 1kHz, the ripple rejection ratio is reduced by about 20dB for every 10 times the frequency increases. When the noise frequency exceeds 100kHz, the ripple rejection ratio decreases by about 40dB for every 10 times the frequency increases. Therefore, the LDO regulator may not be sufficient to eliminate noise with a frequency exceeding 100 kHz generated in a DC-DC converter circuit or similar circuit.
The new product provides excellent ripple rejection ratio and output noise voltage characteristics, even if the noise frequency reaches or exceeds 100kHz, it can eliminate circuit noise. This helps stabilize the power supply voltage and provide higher output voltage accuracy.

Note:
[1] LDO regulator with a maximum output current of 300mA, as of Toshiba survey results on October 28, 2020.
[2] Ripple rejection ratio (R.R.: Ripple rejection Ratio) is the same as the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR: Power Supply Rejection Ratio) marked on other manufacturers' products.
[3] 32 products. This number indicates that the output voltage has reached "XX".
[4] Control pull-down current (ICT)except.
