MAX31889 provides the highest precision temperature detection for cold chain logistics; MAX31825 effectively simplifies the multi-temperature measurement design in consumer and factory automation applications

Beijing, China—September 4, 2020—Maxim Integrated Products, Inc (NASDAQ: MXIM) announced the launch of two industry-leading basic analog ICs that provide high precision for cold chain logistics (including pharmaceuticals, etc.) and other temperature monitoring applications , High reliability solutions.MAX31889The digital temperature sensor is a perfect combination of high precision and low power consumption, and is used to replace the expensive resistance temperature detector (RTD) in high precision temperature measurement applications.MAX31825Digital sensors allow up to 64 sensors to be connected to each bus, all powered by the 1-Wire® bus parasitic, which greatly reduces the complexity of wiring connections.

MAX31889: High precision, low power consumption and simple design are the basic design goals of medical cold chain logistics, medical monitoring and industrial automation applications. In many cases, even a temperature deviation of 2ºC will restrict the production capacity of high-quality products, adversely affect products, and thus affect economic benefits. MAX31889 can guarantee the industry's highest temperature measurement accuracy with the lowest power consumption. MAX31889 provides ±0.25ºC accuracy in a wide temperature range, replacing RTD temperature measurement in medical cold chain logistics, and its cost is only a fraction of RTD, and the power consumption is only 35% of competing solutions. The MAX31889 is available in a 6-pin µDFN package.

MAX31825:In some sensitive processing procedures and applications, it is often necessary to connect multiple devices in a space-constrained environment to measure the temperature, to protect the production process, assets and equipment, and to prevent the ambient temperature from exceeding the deviation limit. The current competitive scheme only allows up to 8 devices to be connected, and additional power cords are required. MAX31825 allows up to 64 sensors to be connected to the same 1-Wire bus, and supports parasitic power supply, which greatly reduces the complexity of design and line connection, and the temperature measurement accuracy is ±1ºC. Each sensor has a unique serial number, which can be configured as a corresponding location address as needed, simplifying system design. Compared with 2-wire or 3-wire competing solutions, the versatility of 1-Wire reduces the number of wires by 8 times, greatly improving system reliability. The MAX31825 is housed in a 6-ball WLP package, and with a low standby current of 2.5µA, it supports a longer battery life and significantly extends operating time. The device is suitable for consumer and factory automation applications.
