The chipset solution composed of TMC2130-LA motor driver and MAX22513 IO-Link transceiver takes full advantage of the bidirectional communication interface of IO-Link. The PD42-1-1243-IOLINK intelligent actuator integrates industry-leading motion control technology into a plug-and-play solution. Compared with competing solutions, the size is reduced by 2.6 times and power consumption is reduced by more than 50%. In addition, the parameters monitored by smart actuators are also 50% higher than competing solutions, bringing intelligence to the factory floor, helping to improve the prediction of factory shutdown failures, and maximizing factory output.

PD42-1-1243-IOLINK smart actuator includes the following chipsets:

• MAX22513: The MAX22513 IO-Link transceiver is 3 times smaller than the closest competing solution, making it the industry's smallest ±1kV/500Ω surge protection, dual-drive IO-Link transceiver (4.2mm x 2.1mm WLP package). The highly integrated solution includes a DC-DC regulator, protection diode, auxiliary digital input, I²C or SPI control, oscillator and optional 3.3V or 5V LDO, improve system configurability and reduce SKU. Thanks to the low 2.0Ω (typical value) C/Q drive on-resistance, the device power consumption is 4 times lower than competing solutions.
• TMC2130-LA: Unlike competing solutions, the TMC2130-LA motor driver provides stall detection and does not require sensors to mark undesired mechanical behavior. Compared with the industry standard 16 times microstepping, the motor driver provides up to 256 times microstepping, thus providing extremely smooth and precise motion control, achieving high-precision positioning and minimal resonance. The key functions of the internal integration include: a complete driver stage circuit configured by a low RDSon N-channel power MOSFET into an H full bridge, providing up to 1.2A RMS @ 5-46V drive for driving the motor winding; SPI interface is used for system configuration and diagnosis; Direction stepping control interface.
